Compared to many similar garcinia cambogia products out there, this one claims to have used only premium quality extracts containing hydroxycitric acid (HCA) produced from choice Indian and Asian Garcinia Cambogia fruit rind of the highest quality possible.

Life & Food also attests that this product has “NO SOY, NO ADDITIVES, NO STIMULANTS, OF PURE QUALITY and absolutely NO fillers, NO soy, WHEAT, eggs, fish, stimulants or any additives.”

BUT HOW EXACTLY DOES IT MAKE YOU LOSE WEIGHT?
Well, it burns fat. According to Life & Food, “HCA is the key component reduces glucose absorption there by leading to fat reduction for those with high glucose levels. We’ve formulated to optimal dosage helps suppress the appetite while burning fat. It has also shown to improve blood lipid leves, help reduce fate production, curb emotional eating and help improve mood by raising the “feel good” hormone serotonin. It is clinically proven to block the stress hormone cortisol, too.”

I tried it the day I received it and took the suggested 4 capsules max (2 capsules 30 minutes before my first meal and 2 capsules again 30 minutes before my last meal. The few times I forgot to take it before my last meal, I decided to take them before bedtime.

I had no struggle whatsoever in terms of taking it because I didn’t experience anything different — no apparent or perceived side effects. So I thought I’d keep taking it to see if my body’s reaction changes. Two, three, five days past and nothing seemed off or achy in my body.

What I did notice was how I ate less and less probably because of the appetite-suppressant effect. I’d try to eat my usual portion but would feel full 2/3 into it. During the times I’m busy on my PC, I even forget to eat on time because I wouldn’t experience the usual hunger my body clock has been used to.

I also noticed feeling more energized and alert throughout the day — this one must be due to the serotonin level boost that causes one to be in a better mood. Studies have shown how mood affects our eating habits and how we perceive the need to eat food. Girls on their periods can relate to this, I’m sure.

As for the weight loss, after a week or so, I did notice a little weight loss of 2 lbs — which is a feat, considering I’ve never lost weight with the previous similar product I’ve tried and that I didn’t really change my diet and didn’t exercise at all.

Right now, since everything seems to be going well, I’ll just keep at it and see how much weight I might possibly lose. I’ll put in a little effort this time by watching my diet and doing a bit of exercise.

As with all products, first consult your doctor before trying them out. Results may vary from person to person. Not for pregnant and lactating mothers.

About Me
Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera Marmol aka RJ Marmol profile picture

I’m RJ Marmol — writer, musician, and independent creator based in Manila.

I write songs, essays, and books about the messy overlap between money, overwhelm, creativity, identity, and rebuilding. Much of my work circles around what happens when life stops feeling manageable — and how we try to think clearly, make decisions, and keep moving anyway.

I’m also the author of Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur, a nonfiction book published under Steady Hand Press. The paperback edition is listed under my full publishing name, Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera.

On the music side, I release work as HeyRJ. On the writing side, this site is where I gather my books, essays, notes, and whatever I’m building next.

Music

HeyRJ is my sonic soul project. I create raw, minimalist-style and deeply personal music interpretations that feel like a late-night conversation with your truest self.

By blending lo-fi acoustic textures with poetic honesty, my work explores love, loss, grief, healing, and the quiet in-betweens of life. Each song is a letter — a journal entry — a gentle companion for when the world feels too loud or too quiet.

While my catalogue began with intimate cover renditions, my work is increasingly being shaped by original writing, drawing from years of poems, lived questions, and emotional survival.

“Stuck Home Syndrome” released on March 20, 2026 is my first original 20-track album written during a period when time felt compressed and days began to blur into each other. The songs came from sitting with thoughts that had nowhere else to go — unfiltered, repetitive, and sometimes uncomfortable. It’s a concept album that isn’t built around singles or polish. It’s closer to a continuous inner monologue, recorded with minimal production and very little ornamentation and meant to be listened to as one cohesive body of work. The goal wasn’t to resolve anything, only to document how it felt while it was happening.

On May 29, 2026 I released new original singles – “Rapturous”, “Uh Huh”, “Look At You”, “All That” and “Blew Print”. I continue to release both original and cover songs and intend to so for as long as I can so check back every once in a while — you might. just find something you’ll like.

Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur

A nonfiction book about what debt does to the mind — and how to begin functioning again when financial stress has made everything feel blurred, urgent, and overwhelming.

Rather than treating debt only as a financial math problem, the book explores the emotional and cognitive realities of financial distress: shame, decision fatigue, avoidance, panic, relationship strain, and the difficulty of making sound decisions while mentally depleted.

Published under Steady Hand Press. It’s available worldwide in ebook and paperback formats on Amazon. Bookstores and libraries can also be order it wholesale via Ingram.
