Lost for words? Let me help.

What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?

Dear readers of ADayInTheLifeOfRJ.com,

It is I, RJ. :) As you may have realized by now, I haven’t been blogging much for the past months and I assure you, it has nothing to do with my being busy with anything. And if you know me personally, you’d surely agree with me that I’m not one to leave out blogging for lack of ‘time’. The current ‘bland’ political atmosphere has had me quite disinterested in spamming your timelines, emails and feed readers with the usual political and social rants. Perhaps many of you welcomed that break, perhaps some disliked it — either way, I’m happy you’re still here wasting your precious time on my blog and reading on. :)

Which brings me to this topic, need I say, new public service I’ve decided to offer on this blog:

During the months I haven’t been writing much, I have seen immense traffic on this blog from people looking for ‘words’ to express themselves. Oddly, even as the web has been proliferated with poems, letters, essays and similar writings, I have observed that people still find it hard to craft words that would express exactly how they feel about important and beloved people in their lives. Others look for words to say ‘thank you’, ‘sorry’ and things like ‘I’ve been very stupid to have taken you for granted for the longest time..’ yada yada.. And though I have written a few generic ‘notes’ expressing related sentiments, I understand the need to speak to people in words that are uniquely yours (or at least in circumstances that are).

But some people are just regularly lost for words — sometimes even the most prolific writers and eloquent speakers buckle and jitter at the thought of writing to or talking to someone so dear to them.

And so, instead of writing generic letters/poems/odes I’ve decided to take it upon myself to ‘give you words’ and express your feelings in a much more personal way instead of just scouring the web for generic or somewhat-related articles/letters to serve your purpose.

Think of it as a public service Hallmark card online sort of feature/added service on this blog. It would be FREE. No charge. No catch. No ‘follow-me-on-Twitter-or-subscribe-to-my-feeds-or-download-this-ebook-and-I’ll-help-you’ sort of catch.

Just shoot me an email {lost4wordsbyrj [at] gmail [dot] com}, @reply or DM me on Twitter @rjmarmol to tell me a backgrounder of what you want me to write for you and I’ll gladly write that special love letter, sorry letter or thank-you letter for you, as personal as I can. You can opt to write me anonymously. Frankly, I prefer it that way. I also suggest you use an anonymous email to begin with. I’ll see if I can post a contact form on this blog to make it easier for you to send requests.

And don’t worry, anonymous or not, I value your privacy so NO PERSONALIZED LETTER WILL BE POSTED ONLINE OR OFFLINE, ON THIS BLOG OR ELSEWHERE. I guarantee that.

Responses/personalized letters will be sent to the same email you used to request/write me. I will not be sending them to any other email address. I hate spam and unsolicited emails as much as you do. And I wouldn’t want to creep people out by getting unexpected emails from me.

I took it upon myself to ‘give you the words’. It’s your job to take it to the person you want to send it to.

And one more thing, NO HATE LETTER REQUESTS PLEASE. I will only accept requests suggesting/yearning for peace and reconciliation and related feelings. There is enough hate in the world as it is, I have no plans of cultivating more evil.

That’s it. I hope I can be of service to you in the future.

[Disclaimer: I do not intend to and will never sell/share your personal information. The ‘more anonymous’ the request, the better.]

Always remember, your words aren’t really lost. It’s out there somewhere somehow and if you can’t find it yourself, let me help you. Who knows, maybe I can.

Love,
RJ

P.S.
This is still (and will always be) a political blog. ‘Lost for Words’ is just my way of giving back to the web. After all, politics is all about public service. :)

  1. Hello RJ, I know I had been your follower before but I already forgot my user name and password – whatever, so I'm leaving my comment as unregistered. It's nice to see your blogs back and glad too, to be back following your articles again. Been lost to blogs for awhile and, honestly, I thought about you just after I posted my first blog, hahaha! I thought I could learn from some of your techniques and styles soI could improve my future blogs. I'm going to follow you again – Albert Chan

    1. Wow! Is it really you Sir Albert??! How are you doing? I'm so glad to find you back here! And I see that you've been blogging, huh? *wink* — and for altruistic reasons, no less. Boy, am I proud of you! Yes, I haven't blogged much recently, especially about national issues. But hey, I'm back!

Since when have you been with Atmel? I miss the semicon industry, it's almost 6 years since I left Amkor and I miss my work everyday. Blogging and reading news keeps the boredom at bay.

You should blog more. You don't need tips from me, Boss. You've got what it takes and we both know that. Just find a niche topic you're most passionate about and I assure you, you'll never run out of things to say/write.

Hey, are you on Twitter yet? I hope you already are. If you aren't, sign up quick and let's follow each other's updates — http://twitter.com/rjmarmol

      Take care and keep blogging!

About Me
Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera Marmol aka RJ Marmol profile picture

I’m RJ Marmol — writer, musician, and independent creator based in Manila.

I write songs, essays, and books about the messy overlap between money, overwhelm, creativity, identity, and rebuilding. Much of my work circles around what happens when life stops feeling manageable — and how we try to think clearly, make decisions, and keep moving anyway.

I’m also the author of Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur, a nonfiction book published under Steady Hand Press. The paperback edition is listed under my full publishing name, Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera.

On the music side, I release work as HeyRJ. On the writing side, this site is where I gather my books, essays, notes, and whatever I’m building next.

Music

HeyRJ is my sonic soul project. I create raw, minimalist-style and deeply personal music interpretations that feel like a late-night conversation with your truest self.

By blending lo-fi acoustic textures with poetic honesty, my work explores love, loss, grief, healing, and the quiet in-betweens of life. Each song is a letter — a journal entry — a gentle companion for when the world feels too loud or too quiet.

While my catalogue began with intimate cover renditions, my work is increasingly being shaped by original writing, drawing from years of poems, lived questions, and emotional survival.

“Stuck Home Syndrome” released on March 20, 2026 is my first original 20-track album written during a period when time felt compressed and days began to blur into each other. The songs came from sitting with thoughts that had nowhere else to go — unfiltered, repetitive, and sometimes uncomfortable. It’s a concept album that isn’t built around singles or polish. It’s closer to a continuous inner monologue, recorded with minimal production and very little ornamentation and meant to be listened to as one cohesive body of work. The goal wasn’t to resolve anything, only to document how it felt while it was happening.

On May 29, 2026 I released new original singles – “Rapturous”, “Uh Huh”, “Look At You”, “All That” and “Blew Print”. I continue to release both original and cover songs and intend to so for as long as I can so check back every once in a while — you might. just find something you’ll like.

Books

Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur

A nonfiction book about what debt does to the mind — and how to begin functioning again when financial stress has made everything feel blurred, urgent, and overwhelming.

Rather than treating debt only as a financial math problem, the book explores the emotional and cognitive realities of financial distress: shame, decision fatigue, avoidance, panic, relationship strain, and the difficulty of making sound decisions while mentally depleted.

Published under Steady Hand Press. It’s available worldwide in ebook and paperback formats on Amazon. Bookstores and libraries can also be order it wholesale via Ingram.
