Gibo is on a roll. But is he getting anywhere?

Hooray for image-building. Ruling party Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro is going places, saying wonderful things, looking good and promising. This photo of him cuddling ((oops, sorry, lost the photo..will look for it)) a needy child in Maguindanao is good for his image.

Boo for doublespeak. How convenient it is for him to suddenly “urge his former colleagues” to “make public their report of the investigation as to why government-issued weapons ended up in private armies,” when he would have done better by spring-cleaning his former office before he left to campaign for his presidential bid in 2010. He had a chance to do it himself. That would have served his purpose and prevented the now infamous Maguindanao massacre.

Of course, it’s now useless to talk about prevention when you’re reeling from tragedy upon tragedy…the natural and the man-made. But I’m sorry, it’s just a thought that wouldn’t stop nagging me.

It is sad that in Gibo’s two years or so stint as chief of the Department of National Defense, none of his so-called accomplishments included disarming and dislodging private armies at least in the south. Maybe that wasn’t included in his “orders” or priorities. Maybe he lacked today’s buzzwords “political will” or maybe the DND itself is plain toothless..if so, that makes his post toothless as well because his authority emanates from that office.

You can’t expect a wild lizard to spit fire but then a domesticated dragon can and will on a whim or an order.

That however is not what’s disturbing or alarming at the very least. It is this: He says “militias are a fact of life…the government is afraid we might spend more to pay for the retirement benefits of regular soldiers than for the military’s operations..”

Doesn’t that bother you? The government is afraid of spending more? More like the government is afraid to live up to what’s expected of them. Would I be so dumb to assume that this is yet another reflection of this government’s misplaced priorities?

Gibo seems busy these days. Here today, but is he gone tomorrow? Is he really getting anywhere with this doublespeak or is he doing more harm to his campaign than all his detractors’ insinuations put together?

You want the presidency, Gibo, sir? Do something shocking. Surprise us. It worked for Mar Roxas, for Noynoy Aquino, for Chiz.. It always works.

Ah, lovely Thursday.. wonderful day to hear someone “spill beans” about this government. Hmmm.. oh well.. honesty is such a lonely word..everyone is so untrue..honesty is hardly ever heard and mostly what I need from you.

And Gibo, sir.. just between the two of us.. I don’t think your party has your back anyway. It might seem like a stupid assumption, yes. But events, unlike people, never lie. Maybe it’s time you dictate events.

    Regarding your campaign: Just continue what you think what is right to be done. Those bloggers who are urging you was not eble to emphatize when you were still DND secretary. We fully understand that you cant do it alone. You need all the support of other agencies, and of course congress where the senate is very opposition…but now just continue your campign tool doing positive move, unlike
    the opposition na madali lang ang pagcampanya sa pagbabatikos sa gobyrerno pero wala namang mga solution na maibibigay. Or are they just selfish to share
    their knowledge in contributing their piece of advice on solutions…No matter what
    your campaign the result, you're on the right track…. Just a trivia or a side comments for voters in NCR. I dont like to think about these but its really happening, the bulk of manmade destruction strikes in that area or near that area because of sins be it morally or socially. People who are not voting the right people even if they know who the right person to vote for are punished either by manmade destruction or force majeur. I just hope they will change for the better.

HeyRJ is my sonic soul project. I create raw, minimalist-style and deeply personal music interpretations that feel like a late-night conversation with your truest self.

By blending lo-fi acoustic textures with poetic honesty, my work explores love, loss, grief, healing, and the quiet in-betweens of life. Each song is a letter — a journal entry — a gentle companion for when the world feels too loud or too quiet.

While my catalogue began with intimate cover renditions, my work is increasingly being shaped by original writing, drawing from years of poems, lived questions, and emotional survival.

“Stuck Home Syndrome” released on March 20, 2026 is my first original 20-track album written during a period when time felt compressed and days began to blur into each other. The songs came from sitting with thoughts that had nowhere else to go — unfiltered, repetitive, and sometimes uncomfortable. It’s a concept album that isn’t built around singles or polish. It’s closer to a continuous inner monologue, recorded with minimal production and very little ornamentation and meant to be listened to as one cohesive body of work. The goal wasn’t to resolve anything, only to document how it felt while it was happening.

On May 29, 2026 I released new original singles – “Rapturous”, “Uh Huh”, “Look At You”, “All That” and “Blew Print”. I continue to release both original and cover songs and intend to so for as long as I can so check back every once in a while — you might. just find something you’ll like.
