Let Me Write You A Prose

Let Me Write You A Prose
by: RJ

Let me a write you a prose,
Brimming with passion, like a scarlet rose.
Let me write you a prose
More profound than that of Ambrose.

Let me write you a prose, lofty and proud
One that’s incomparable to that enchanting ballad that you love.
Let me write you a prose I can hardly think of
One that’s sure to squeeze my brain and the conspiracies thereof.

One that will melt your apathetic and careless heart of stone
One that will weaken your strong knees and crumble each bone
One that will never make it to the end of this season
One that will never see tomorrow, please don’t ask me the reason

Let me write you a prose that you will never forget
One that will outlast all the chances you and I will ever get
One that will stay forever in your heart and linger by your side
Long after your silly dreams or my steadfast love has eventually died

Let me write you a prose, senseless and odd
A prose so ugly that no one will ever read aloud
A prose that will never get noticed, will never get an award
One that sounds so stupid, even reading it would seem awkward

Because,

I know your taste for elegance and grace,
Your love for beauty and the wonders of space
I know your colorful world and the people you sketched
That beautiful lady you dream of and her image in your mind deeply etched

I know the thoughts you hold in a winter night so cold
I know the plans you make and the bright ideas you sold
I know the butterflies in your stomache, and the lies that you told
I know the secrets you kept from me, yes, even that hidden pot of gold.

So,

Let me write you a prose, high and mighty, like your nose
A prose so good yet so bad, so happy yet so sad.
A prose so unfitting and yet so exact
A prose so irregular and yet so tact

A prose so lovely, it will jumpstart your day
A prose so ugly, it will ruin your stay
A prose I will write in the darkest of night
A prose I will keep under glass and away from the light

Please let me write you a prose because I am haunted by your ghost
And unless you let me do it, there’s nothing else that comes close
To letting you know how much of this affection is unreturned and lost
And how my darling, the very thought of you gives rise to each post

Now I write you a prose while I watch the trees sway
I write you a prose, littered with words as lovely as I can say
I write you a prose, my idol, though your feet’s made of clay
A prose that will never get to you — to my aching soul’s dismay

About Me
Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera Marmol aka RJ Marmol profile picture

I’m RJ Marmol — writer, musician, and independent creator based in Manila.

I write songs, essays, and books about the messy overlap between money, overwhelm, creativity, identity, and rebuilding. Much of my work circles around what happens when life stops feeling manageable — and how we try to think clearly, make decisions, and keep moving anyway.

I’m also the author of Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur, a nonfiction book published under Steady Hand Press. The paperback edition is listed under my full publishing name, Cecilia Regina Aquino Blanquera.

On the music side, I release work as HeyRJ. On the writing side, this site is where I gather my books, essays, notes, and whatever I’m building next.

Music

HeyRJ is my sonic soul project. I create raw, minimalist-style and deeply personal music interpretations that feel like a late-night conversation with your truest self.

By blending lo-fi acoustic textures with poetic honesty, my work explores love, loss, grief, healing, and the quiet in-betweens of life. Each song is a letter — a journal entry — a gentle companion for when the world feels too loud or too quiet.

While my catalogue began with intimate cover renditions, my work is increasingly being shaped by original writing, drawing from years of poems, lived questions, and emotional survival.

“Stuck Home Syndrome” released on March 20, 2026 is my first original 20-track album written during a period when time felt compressed and days began to blur into each other. The songs came from sitting with thoughts that had nowhere else to go — unfiltered, repetitive, and sometimes uncomfortable. It’s a concept album that isn’t built around singles or polish. It’s closer to a continuous inner monologue, recorded with minimal production and very little ornamentation and meant to be listened to as one cohesive body of work. The goal wasn’t to resolve anything, only to document how it felt while it was happening.

On May 29, 2026 I released new original singles – “Rapturous”, “Uh Huh”, “Look At You”, “All That” and “Blew Print”. I continue to release both original and cover songs and intend to so for as long as I can so check back every once in a while — you might. just find something you’ll like.

Rebuilding Under Debt: Thinking Clearly When Everything Is a Blur

A nonfiction book about what debt does to the mind — and how to begin functioning again when financial stress has made everything feel blurred, urgent, and overwhelming.

Rather than treating debt only as a financial math problem, the book explores the emotional and cognitive realities of financial distress: shame, decision fatigue, avoidance, panic, relationship strain, and the difficulty of making sound decisions while mentally depleted.

Published under Steady Hand Press. It’s available worldwide in ebook and paperback formats on Amazon. Bookstores and libraries can also be order it wholesale via Ingram.
